Connecting Rithmic Trader to Apex via NinjaTrader on your QuantVPS server can significantly enhance your trading experience. Follow this detailed guide to ensure a seamless setup.
Step 1: Prepare Rithmic Trader Pro
For Existing Customers:
If you already have Rithmic Trader Pro set up and connected, skip to the “NinjaTrader Setup” section.
For New Customers:
Uninstall Other Versions:
If you have any other version of Rithmic Trader on your computer, you must uninstall it and remove the folder.
Download and Install Rithmic Trader Pro:
- Download Rithmic Trader Pro from Downloads.rithmic.com.
- Install the software by following the prompts.
Configure Rithmic Trader Pro:
Open Rithmic Trader Pro and click “Skip Settings” in the top right corner.
Leave selective mode turned OFF.
Copy and paste your Rithmic username and password (found in your welcome email or your Apex Trader Funding member account).
Choose System: APEX.
Choose Gateway: Chicago Area.
Click LOGIN and sign the two agreements for new users upon the first login in Rithmic Trader Pro.
Click each link to agree to the documents
Choose your data: Select → NON-PROFESSIONAL
Step 2: NinjaTrader Setup

Sign Up for NinjaTrader:
Go to NinjaTrader Registration and enter your email to sign up.
Ensure no ad blockers/pop-up blockers are active. Try different browsers if you encounter issues.
Confirm Your Email:
Check your email for a confirmation request and confirm your email address.
Create a NinjaTrader Account:
Create a username and password, agree with the required documents, and select “Create User”.
Save your username and password for later use.
Access NinjaTrader Dashboard:
After creating your account, click on “Try risk-free simulated trading”.
Enter your first name, last name, and phone number, then click “Continue” to go to the NinjaTrader Dashboard.
Import Rithmic License Key:
- In the NinjaTrader online Dashboard, click the top right icon and select “Settings”.
- Go to “Plans” and click “Import a License Key”.
- Copy and paste the Rithmic License key assigned to you (found under NinjaTrader Setup in your Apex Trader Funding account).
- Click “Import” and ensure you receive a “License key was imported successfully” message.
- If you do not get this message, you will need to contact NinjaTrader Support or create a new NinjaTrader.com account, then repeat this setup to get the successful license key import.
- Click on the “Download” button on the bottom left of the NinjaTrader Dashboard and download the most recent release of NinjaTrader.
Configure Preferences:
While downloading, go to “Settings” in the top right icon.
Click on “Preferences” and select “Numeric”.
Step 3: Install and Configure NinjaTrader on QuantVPS

Install NinjaTrader:
- Follow the prompts to install NinjaTrader on your QuantVPS server.
- Once installed, open NinjaTrader and enter the username and password you created during registration.
Set Up Connections:
Go to Tools > Options > General and ensure the Multi-provider box is CHECKED. Click Apply > OK.
Now, Restart NinjaTrader.
Configure Rithmic Connection:
In the NinjaTrader Control Center, click on Connections > Configure.
Add a new connection by selecting “My Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage”.
Enter your Rithmic credentials provided by Apex Trader Funding.
Click “OK” to save the connection.
Next, under connections, click on “My Rithmic for NinjaTrader Brokerage”
